South County Line Road

PROJECT UPDATE

The South County Line Road Project is currently in final design. Utility relocations are expected to begin late summer/early fall 2025 in advance of the road widening project. The project will go to bid in July 2026 with primary construction for the first phase, I-69 to Woodcreek Drive, beginning shortly thereafter. Construction for the second phase of the project, Woodcreek Drive to State Road 135, is not anticipated prior to 2029. Providing upgrades to this corridor will improve pedestrian and vehicular safety, improve vehicular and pedestrian mobility, and increase vehicular capacity within the corridor.

The South County Line Road project includes added travel lanes in both directions and a continuous center turn lane from I-69 to SR 135. Pedestrian mobility along the corridor will improve with the addition of a new 10-foot wide trail on the north side and a new 6-foot wide sidewalk on the south side of the roadway. Part 1 of the project has been revised to extend from I-69 to approximately 500 feet east of Railroad Road. Construction is expected to begin in 2026. Part 2 of the project is between Railroad Road and SR 135.
