South County Line Road

PROJECT UPDATE

The City of Indianapolis has re‑evaluated and is currently re-designing the South County Line Road project to reflect updated traffic projections and ensure the project meets future travel and safety needs, supporting long‑term, sustainable improvements within available funding. A public hearing is anticipated in Summer 2026 to share the updated design and gather community feedback. Construction is expected to begin in 2028. Providing upgrades to this corridor will improve pedestrian and vehicular safety, improve vehicular and pedestrian mobility, and increase vehicular capacity within the corridor.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The South County Line Road project has been re-evaluated and is currently being re-designed by the City of Indianapolis to reflect future travel and safety needs. Pedestrian mobility along the corridor will improve with the addition of a new 10-foot wide trail on the north side and a new 6-foot wide sidewalk on the south side of the roadway.
